Profacture-SES  Receives Order To Convert Non-OEM

Computer Controlled Tegal® 903e back to its' Original

Microprocessor (DACSCAN) Configuration

Beaverton, OR, June 8, 2009 -- Profacture-SES, today announced that they received an order to remove a non-OEM computer control system from a Tegal® 903e and restore it with the original microprocessor (DACSCAN) system. This order comes from a North American customer that operates multiple 9XX systems with the standard microprocessor but purchased this system for increased recipe storage and enhanced configuration/maintenance functions.  But, wafer transport and other issues have become a major problem contributing to a very low MTBF (mean time before failure) when compared to their microprocessor based Tegal® 90X systems.  Another deciding factor was the fact that separate and additional spares inventory have to be maintained for this system due to its differences. Also, spare refurbished transport modules aligned and set-up to run on the microprocessor based systems could not be used on this system either.

This system will also undergo a complete refurbishment during this conversion and is scheduled to ship and startup in the third quarter of 2009.

Profacture-SES is committed to maintaining and servicing the original microprocessor based systems with a large inventory of spare components, boards, test fixtures and expertise.
